Patna shivers at 4°C, Darbhanga coldest
PATNA: With the mercury dipping to the season's lowest, the entire Bihar continued to remain in the grip of a severe cold wave, forcing people indoors for most of the day on Sunday. Darbhanga was the coldest with the temperature dropping to 2.4 degrees Celsius. Patna too experienced intense cold with the minimum temperature recorded at 4 degrees C — the lowest this winter.
The sunshine came as a relief in the afternoon for Patnaites, but only for a short period. The maximum temperature was 14.1 degrees C only. According to the weather office, the prevailing weather conditions will continue.
Chilly winds blew in Patna throughout the day, adding to the woes of people, especially the elderly and the poor. Markets and parks, which usually see more footfalls on Sundays, had limited activity.
Darbhanga and adjoining districts witnessed extreme cold conditions.
