PETA opposes move to lift ban on Jallikattu
NEW DELHI: Animal rights body PETA on Wednesday held a ‘bloodless Jallikattu’ here to oppose the Centre’s reported intention to lift the ban on the traditional bull race, besides bullfights of a similar kind. PETA volunteers staged the demonstration with two giant inflatable bull figures at Jantar Mantar, and urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to retain the prohibition on the event.
