Actor Eijaz Khan, who made people laugh with his comic act as Jassi in the film Tanu Weds Manu (2011) and its sequel, is 42 years old, single, and has pretty much given up on love. “I think more than that, love has given up on me! I just want to be happy. Once you cross 40, you are in a better position to reflect upon what’s right and wrong. You are not in a race to please anyone, and you realise which people matter to you the most. I won’t say you wise up completely, but you are more in touch with yourself. But I am not expecting anything to happen in the love area now,” says Eijaz, who was dating Canadian singer Natalie Di Luccio, but the two split up. Eijaz believes that relationships today are only about updating status and posting cute pictures on social media. “People don’t give respect to their relationships anymore, because they make it completely public and exploit it for likes on social networking sites. Thankfully, I come from a generation which didn’t have any mobile phones.” He has a piece of advice for people who stay glued to their gadgets: “Keep your phones aside and try to live your life instead.”
