Sunil Kukreja and his brothers were among Shah Rukh Khan’s closest friends. “We were like family. Sometimes, SRK would sleep over at our house, and some days, we’d go there,” he says. The businessman, who is still in touch with the actor, recalls that Shah Rukh was a stubborn kid, he loved dogs and that his mother was a very nice lady. Sunil and SRK had nicknames for each other. “He called me Githi, and we would call him Mela. We’d fly kites together and play cricket and football. SRK played the role of a monkey in Ramleela this one time.” When did they meet last? “At his father-in-law’s funeral in Delhi last year.”
