2 gangs of car lifters busted in Bikaner

Bikaner po­lice claims to have busted two gangs of thieves in­volved in lift­ing of bags car­ry­ing valu­ables and mo­tor­cy­cles in dif­fer­ent parts of the district. Po­lice said it re­cov­ered ₹15 lakh cash and seven mo­tor­cy­cles from them in Shridun­gar­garh and Gan­gasha­har po­lice sta­tion area of the district re­spec­tively.

Su­per­in­ten­dent of po­lice Swai Singh Go­dara said that a bag hav­ing ₹30 lakh was lifted from Ram­ni­was Go­dara, a cashier of Jodh­pur Vidut Vi­tran Nigam Lim­ited when he was busy com­plet­ing for­mal­i­ties in the State Bank of In­dia branch of Shridun­gar­garh on May 9.

A spe­cial team was formed which af­ter analysing thou­sands of call de­tails and CCTV footages, suc­ceeded in trac­ing two sus­pects, iden­ti­fied as Om Siso­dia and Shaka of Ra­j­garh district in Mad­hya Pradesh. The team ar­rested Om Siso­dia and re­cov­ered ₹15 lakh from his house.

In an­other break­through, the po­lice nabbed two oth­ers for steal­ing mo­tor­cy­cles from dif­fer­ent ar­eas of Bikaner district and re­cov­ered seven mo­tor­cy­cles. SP Go­dara said that the po­lice had been re­ceiv­ing a se­ries of com­plaints of bike lift­ing over the past few weeks.

More than a dozen mo­tor­cy­cles were re­ported lifted from mar­kets, shop­ping com­plexes, re­li­gious places and res­i­den­tial ar­eas. On a tip off, Gan­gasha­har po­lice worked out a plan and some sus­pects were taken in to cus­tody.

Dur­ing grilling, two sus­pects, Shubhkaran Ku­ma­vat and Vi­jay Ku­mar con­fessed that they steal mo­tor­cy­cles and sale for ₹2,000 or ₹3,000. Sources said the mas­ter­mind, Shubhkaran, is a me­chanic, an ex­pert in break­ing open the locks of parked mo­tor­cy­cles. An­other ac­cused has also been ar­rested in the case.
