2 gangs of car lifters busted in Bikaner
Bikaner police claims to have busted two gangs of thieves involved in lifting of bags carrying valuables and motorcycles in different parts of the district. Police said it recovered ₹15 lakh cash and seven motorcycles from them in Shridungargarh and Gangashahar police station area of the district respectively.
Superintendent of police Swai Singh Godara said that a bag having ₹30 lakh was lifted from Ramniwas Godara, a cashier of Jodhpur Vidut Vitran Nigam Limited when he was busy completing formalities in the State Bank of India branch of Shridungargarh on May 9.
A special team was formed which after analysing thousands of call details and CCTV footages, succeeded in tracing two suspects, identified as Om Sisodia and Shaka of Rajgarh district in Madhya Pradesh. The team arrested Om Sisodia and recovered ₹15 lakh from his house.
In another breakthrough, the police nabbed two others for stealing motorcycles from different areas of Bikaner district and recovered seven motorcycles. SP Godara said that the police had been receiving a series of complaints of bike lifting over the past few weeks.
More than a dozen motorcycles were reported lifted from markets, shopping complexes, religious places and residential areas. On a tip off, Gangashahar police worked out a plan and some suspects were taken in to custody.
During grilling, two suspects, Shubhkaran Kumavat and Vijay Kumar confessed that they steal motorcycles and sale for ₹2,000 or ₹3,000. Sources said the mastermind, Shubhkaran, is a mechanic, an expert in breaking open the locks of parked motorcycles. Another accused has also been arrested in the case.
