APMC em­ploy­ees to do­nate day’s salary to drought-hit

Com­ing to the re­lief of drought-hit farm­ers in the state, the Agri­cul­ture Pro­duce Mar­ket Com­mit­tee (APMC) in Vashi has planned to do­nate a day’s salary of all its em­ploy­ees and of­fi­cials. The com­mit­tee has also ap­pealed to res­i­dents to con­trib­ute to­wards the re­lief fund. APMC sec­re­tary Shivaji Pahinkar and Math­adi leader Shashikant Shinde had asked em­ploy­ees to help those af­fected by this year’s drought and de­ci­sion to do­nate a day’s salary was taken. “It is our duty to help the farm­ers in dis­tress. The mar­ket will sur­vive only if the farm­ers sur­vive,” said Pahinkar.
