The MIDC fire and emergency response station was formed in 1996.

Since 1998, the Thane-Belapur Industrial Association (TBIA) and joint director of Industrial Safety and Health have been training employees of industries.

“We conduct half-day training for first-aid techniques and full-day training for firefighting at various locations. We have advanced designed courses for industrial safety and safety engineering. Being an industrial association, safety is one of our prime concerns. We hold regular training sessions with the workers and employees to make them capable of handling emergency situations,” said K Jayadevan, joint secretary of TBIA.
