State-level cricket tournament for visually impaired next week
The Lions Club (District 323A2) will organise a first-of-its-kind state-level Blind Cricket Tournament in the city. Eight teams from various cities in the state will participate in the tournament to be held on November 23 and 24.
The event will be inaugurated in the presence of renowned dignitaries at 9am on the first day at Rajiv Gandhi Sports Complex, CBD Belapur, and will conclude on the second day at Ghatkopar Jolly Gymkhana around 4pm.
Corporator Jayaji Nath, who is supporting the event, said, “Besides other sight-first related service projects, this year, we, at Lions Club, are creating a great platform, where enthusiastic visually-impaired players will meet and compete with each other. Eight teams from different cities of Maharashtra will participate.”
“We request all to join and support this innovative project and make it a memorable one. It is a small attempt to heal the world,” said Nath.
