MUMBAI: Film and television actor Sachin Pilgaonkar and his wife, Supriya, were allegedly duped of Rs35 lakh by a 28-year-old Punebased woman. The accused, Anagha Borikar, who is married to a Nagpur businessman, but lives in Pune, promised the actor a BMW car at a price lower than what the dealer was offering.

In his complaint, Pilgaonkar claims that he first met Borikar in Panchgani at a sports event, where he was invited as the chief guest. Borikar introduced herself as a fan and told him that she was the owner of a local cricket team, which had participated in the event. “During the meeting, Borikar told Pilgaonkar that she could help him buy a new car at a far lower price, as she knew wellknown car dealers in Mumbai and Pune,” said a senior officer from the Mumbai crime branch.

Pilgaonkar, who was planning to buy a new car, got in touch with Borikar after returning to Mumbai and asked for the price of a BMW 3GT. Borikar told the actor that the on-road price for the car was Rs54 lakh, but she could get it for him at Rs30 lakh.
