Mis­cre­ants van­dalise Uran school, pour phenyl in tank

URAN: Some uniden­ti­fied peo­ple poured phenyl in the school wa­ter tank and also dam­aged school property at Ke­gaon pri­mary school in Uran on Mon­day.

The in­ci­dent has up­set the vil­lagers, who lodged a com­plaint with the Mora coastal po­lice sta­tion.

The in­ci­dent came to light on Mon­day, when the school teach­ers and stu­dents ar­rived for the class. The lo­cal sarpanch was in­formed and the prin­ci­pal of the school and the sarpanch lodged a com­plaint with the po­lice.

AS Pathan, se­nior po­lice in­spec­tor of Mora coastal po­lice sta­tion, said, “It ap­pears that some anti-so­cial el­e­ments en­tered the school early on Mon­day. They en­tered the classes through doors and win­dows and dam­aged ta­bles, chairs and broke tube­lights.”

He added, “They did not spare the wa­ter tank and poured phenyl in it.”

Pathan said the po­lice have taken a se­ri­ous note of the is­sue and are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the mat­ter.

School of­fi­cials did not com­ment on the in­ci­dent.
