Now, Uran farmers can get ownership of land proof online TECHSHIKSHA NOW IN PANVEL
Farmers in Uran taluka no longer have to face the hassle of standing for hours at the revenue office to get documents related to ownership of land.
These farmers can avail of the system of getting 7/12 extracts online from Monday onwards.
The new system will save the farmers and their heirs from the hassle of spending hours at the revenue office to get all land-related documents.
They can now get it from the comfort of their homes.
A 7/12 extract is a proof of ownership of land with the revenue department.
The farmers and their heirs had been tired of making several trips to the talathi office for a 7/12 extract.
The tehsil office has said that the digitisation work of land records that had been on for the past several years has been completed and hence the farmers of the area can now get the benefit.
Arun Bhagat, a resident of Uran, said: “We needed the 7/12 extract for various purposes and so were dependent on the talathi. No farmer, ever got the 7/12 extract in one visit.”
According to tehsildar Nitin Chavan, “Two years ago, the government had decided to digitise the 7/12 extract and even gave loans to the talathis for purchase of a laptop to help the process.”
Farmers will now be able to check their 7/12 extracts on these laptops after giving details of their land survey number and village name.
They will also immediately be able to get a copy of it, said Chavan. He added, “The details will also be available on the internet and there will be no requirement of the talathi’s signature from prints taken from it.”
Science enthusiasts now have another reason to cheer for the city’s most popular science club TechShiksha has now spread its wings to Panvel.
Starting on Saturday, the club will inaugurate the kids’ campus in Panvel with a robotics workshop. From next weekend, the regular electronics and science club will start.
“We are already conducting workshops in Vashi, Kharghar and Chembur. However since it is quite difficult for kids in Panvel to head to these areas, we thought of starting the club here,” said Amit Modi, founder and mentor of Techshiksha science club.
