■ Pan­vel rail­way sta­tion was graded as ‘A’ cat­e­gory sta­tion by the In­dian Rail­ways in 2012. ■ The sta­tion are graded by the In­dian Rail­ways based on the in­come from pas­sen­gers into seven cat­e­gories; A1, A,B, C, D, E and F. ■ As per rules, all sub­ur­ban rail­way sta­tions are clas­si­fied as C cat­e­gory sta­tions. ■ An ‘A’ grade sta­tion is clas­si­fied as the one that gen­er­ates be­tween Rs8 and Rs60 crore while the one which gen­er­ates more than Rs60 crore gets pro­moted to ‘A1’
