70 FINED FOR PARKING ON PALM BEACH ROAD
VASHI: Around 70 motorists, who had parked their vehicles on the Palm Beach Road in Vashi despite the ban, faced action by the traffic police on Wednesday. The traffic police conducted a special drive against illegal parking in the area. Haphazard and illegal parking on the Palm Beach Road stretch between Kopri traffic signal and Satra Plaza lead to traffic snarls. The APMC unit of the traffic department had received several complaints in this regard. “We took action against 70 vehicles. The drive will continue till motorists get the message that we will not tolerate illegal parking in the area,” said inspector (traffic) BB Gaikar, who led the drive.
