Cops ar­rest 2 for mo­tor­cy­cle thefts, solve nine cases

VASHI: APMC po­lice ar­rested two peo­ple who spe­cialised in steal­ing bikes, ear­lier this week and re­cov­ered nine mo­tor­cy­cles, solv­ing nine cases of mo­tor­cy­cle theft. The ac­cused have been iden­ti­fied as Suraj Wagh­mare, 19 and Mo­hammed Sabu Shaikh, 20, both res­i­dents of Sec­tor 19, Kopar Khairane. Ac­cord­ing to deputy com­mis­sioner of po­lice Shahji Umap, “The duo would steal parked mo­tor­cy­cles us­ing du­pli­cate keys. The crime branch team of APMC po­lice sta­tion caught the duo when they were flee­ing with a stolen bike.” Umap said, “Dur­ing in­ter­ro­ga­tion, they con­fessed to their crime.” The po­lice have also seized du­pli­cate keys. Umap has an­nounced a cash prize of Rs 10,000 to the in­ves­tiga­tive team.
