Shiv Sena Airoli corporator MK Madhvi, who quit the NCP before the civic elections, claimed that the NCP is misleading the people by stating that the corporators will lose all their power to the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) that will be formed for the project.

“The NCP leaders do not seem to have read the proposal and hence are criticizing the SPV. If one goes through the key functions and responsibilities of SPV that are listed in the proposal they clearly state that they will be as authorized by the urban local body or the municipal corporation,” Madhvi said.

BJP corporator Ramchandra Gharat said: “The SPV will comprise of experts who know all about the city’s development. There is a provision for an advisory body that will guide the SPV and it will include the elected representatives.”
