NAGPUR: In a first for the state, the government plans to bring in a law to check prices of essential commodities, particularly pulses, and to curb hoarding, CM Devendra Fadnavis told the Assembly. The law, if enforced, will regulate and control the prices, making it tough for traders to sell commodities beyond a specified price. “We will check if the government can bring in a price regulatory authority to prevent hoarding of pulses before sending the proposed law to the Centre for approval. Controlling prices in open market is tough, but we are hopeful of a nod,” Fadnavis said.
