HT photographer wins NMMC’s photo contest
CBD BELAPUR: Mayor Sudhakar Sonawane has announced the winners of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation’ s (NMMC) photography competition, Pratima Navi Mumbai Chi. The 6th edition of the contest was organised to encourage and promote city-based lensmen, who were asked to capture the ‘Best of Navi Mumbai’. The photography competition was held in two categories — professional and amateur.
In the professional category, HT photographer Bachchan Kumar and other photographers Sandesh Renose, Vivek Thorat, Narendra Waskar, KK Chaudhary, Nandkishore Kurne, Satyawan Waskar and Sandeep Suryavanshi have been adjudged the best in the contest. The winners will be awarded a cash prize of Rs20,000 each at Vishnudas Bhave auditorium, Vashi, on January 1, at a function to mark the 24rd foundation day of NMMC.
In amateur category, Sanjay Patil, Sameer Mande, Dr Ved Kunhe and Subodh Bhoir were declared winners of the contest. They will be given Rs10,000 and mementos each.
The best pictures in both the categories were selected by noted photographers—Sudhakar Olwe and Srinivas Akelda.
Sonawane said, “The 12 winning photographs will be featured in the NMMC’s 2016 calendar.”
