Maharashtra to soon get an online consumer complaint system
MUMBAI: In a first in the country, the Maharashtra Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission will soon introduce an online complaint filing system. This will help consumers file complaints and pay court fees from home, making the system paper-less.
According to officials, an agency, In-Solutions Global Pvt Ltd, has designed the online program for the entire process – from filing to appeal and revision application. The system is being tested and is likely to get activated soon. “The online system, which is likely to be implemented soon, is user-friendly. Under this system, the consumer or advocate will have to create a user profile to file their application. These applications will be referred to as e-files,” said Uday Wavikar, vice-president, Consumer Court Advocate Bar Association.
“The system will provide one more way to approach the com- mission. After creating a profile, the user will get many options to file applications. The templates and formats for all applications have been added to the program. The consumer will just have to fill in the blanks,” said Wavikar.
