Navi Mumbai transport body launches its new mobile ticketing app
NAVI MUMBAI: Commuters travelling via Navi Mumbai Municipal Transport (NMMT) will now be able to have convenient transportation with the help of the transport body’s new mobile ticketing app.
The transport body has launched their much awaited e-ticketing application ‘Ridlr’ this week. Officials said that the aim of designing the app was to provide better services to the commuters as a large number of commuters travel daily to Navi Mumbai.
“We were doing a demo of the app since last month and decided to launch it in December itself so that our passengers can avail of good transport facilities,” said Shirish Aradwad, transport manager, NMMT.
To begin with, commuters can book online tickets through the app for route number 123 which plies from Borivli railway station to Kharghar Jalvayu Vihar. Within a weeks’ time, the app will be introduced on other selected routes as well. “We are in the process of finalising all the routes which will be included in the app. The app is very simple and this will surely help the commuters as well as the transport body. As far as the features are concerned, the app is userfriendly,” said the official.
Presently the app is available only on the android platform. The payment can be made through the mobile wallet for the e-ticket after selecting the destination. Once the destination is selected, the e-ticket can be shown to the conductor for validation. Commuters have welcomed the app and said it will be definitely useful in daily travelling.
“The basic problem while commuting in public transport is carrying the exact change which is often a problem. Also with apps like this, we can simply book our tickets while heading to our journey and need to wait,” said Sumeet Raghavendra, 21, a resident of Nerul.
