A few celebrities own farmhouses at Panvel, which is located along the Mumbai-Pune highway and Mumbai-Goa highway, and throw parties there. Also, Panvel’s proximity to the
national highways and serene environment have made it a great place to celebrate, as people from Pune, Goa and other parts of the state can easily travel to the city. In the past, there have been instances of drunk youngsters creating a ruckus. So, the city police are gearing up to tackle such situations.
“Strict police bandobast will
be enforced in the city from December 31 morning to ensure peaceful celebrations. We have initiated steps to keep strict vigil,” said Ranjan.
“The personnel are trying to ensure the celebrations are peaceful. Check posts are being set up at vital locations. They will also monitor the CCTV footage.”
