Homeopathy research centre to open in 18 months
The state is all set to get its first research centre on homeopathy and Unani.
Shripad Naik, Union minister of state (independent), ministry of Ayush, laid the foundation stone in Kharghar on Monday, for the construction of Research Institute of Homoeopathy and Unani under the Central Council for Research in Homoeopathy (CCRH) and Central Council for Research in Unani medicine (CCRUM).
The centre is being constructed by City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) on an area of around 2,000 square metres at Sector 18, Kharghar. The construction will be completed within 18 months.
“High-quality research in homeopathy and Unani medicine is essential for the growth, further development and their scientific usage in health care systems. The institute is a significant step by the Centre for inculcating research aptitude in students of various colleges in Maharashtra,” said Naik.
“Once these institutes are fully operational, there will be provision of world-class homeopathy and Unani treatment apart from research of incurable diseases such as HIV or AIDS, cancer, psoriasis and vitiligo,” said Naik.
“These institutes shall have state-of-the-art laboratories and investigation facilities,” he added.
