Homeopathy re­search cen­tre to open in 18 months

The state is all set to get its first re­search cen­tre on homeopathy and Unani.

Shri­pad Naik, Union min­is­ter of state (in­de­pen­dent), min­istry of Ayush, laid the foun­da­tion stone in Kharghar on Mon­day, for the con­struc­tion of Re­search In­sti­tute of Ho­moeopa­thy and Unani un­der the Cen­tral Coun­cil for Re­search in Ho­moeopa­thy (CCRH) and Cen­tral Coun­cil for Re­search in Unani medicine (CCRUM).

The cen­tre is be­ing con­structed by City and In­dus­trial De­vel­op­ment Cor­po­ra­tion (Cidco) on an area of around 2,000 square me­tres at Sec­tor 18, Kharghar. The con­struc­tion will be com­pleted within 18 months.

“High-qual­ity re­search in homeopathy and Unani medicine is es­sen­tial for the growth, fur­ther de­vel­op­ment and their sci­en­tific us­age in health care sys­tems. The in­sti­tute is a sig­nif­i­cant step by the Cen­tre for in­cul­cat­ing re­search ap­ti­tude in stu­dents of var­i­ous col­leges in Ma­ha­rash­tra,” said Naik.

“Once th­ese in­sti­tutes are fully op­er­a­tional, there will be pro­vi­sion of world-class homeopathy and Unani treat­ment apart from re­search of in­cur­able diseases such as HIV or AIDS, can­cer, pso­ri­a­sis and vi­tiligo,” said Naik.

“Th­ese in­sti­tutes shall have state-of-the-art lab­o­ra­to­ries and in­ves­ti­ga­tion fa­cil­i­ties,” he added.
