City to host first Marathi, Tel­ugu fest from Jan 6

Ma­ha­rash­tri­ans and Tel­u­gus in the city will see a com­bi­na­tion of both the cul­tures at the city’s first ever Marathi Tel­ugu Ma­hot­sav from Jan­uary 6.

The In­te­grated Ru­ral De­vel­op­ment As­so­ci­a­tion (IRDA) along with Navi Mum­bai Mu­nic­i­pal Cor­po­ra­tion (NMMC) and Nazneen Event Man­age­ment Ser­vices has planned the five-day fes­ti­val. The Ma­hot­sav will be held at NMMC Tan­del Ground, Nerul from Jan­uary 6 to 10.

The event has been or­gan­ised to pro­mote har­mo­nious re­la­tion­ship amongst peo­ple from Ma­ha­rash­tra, Te­len­gana and Andhra Pradesh.

Res­i­dents can look for­ward to so­cial in­ter­ac­tions, sports, recre­ational and cul­tural ac­tiv­i­ties dur­ing the fes­ti­val. The fes­ti­val will also con­duct cul­tural pro­grams per­formed by artistes from ev­ery dis­trict of the three states.

DS Chabuk­swar, deputy mu­nic­i­pal com­mis­sioner, NMMC, said, “The NMMC is proud to be as­so­ci­ated with the first Marathi Tel­ugu Mo­hot­sav. I hope the event is a huge suc­cess.”

“Our fo­cus is to bridge the gap be­tween th­ese cul­tures, artists and as­so­ci­a­tions,” said IRDA founder, Vi­nay Ku­mar.
