City to host first Marathi, Telugu fest from Jan 6
Maharashtrians and Telugus in the city will see a combination of both the cultures at the city’s first ever Marathi Telugu Mahotsav from January 6.
The Integrated Rural Development Association (IRDA) along with Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) and Nazneen Event Management Services has planned the five-day festival. The Mahotsav will be held at NMMC Tandel Ground, Nerul from January 6 to 10.
The event has been organised to promote harmonious relationship amongst people from Maharashtra, Telengana and Andhra Pradesh.
Residents can look forward to social interactions, sports, recreational and cultural activities during the festival. The festival will also conduct cultural programs performed by artistes from every district of the three states.
DS Chabukswar, deputy municipal commissioner, NMMC, said, “The NMMC is proud to be associated with the first Marathi Telugu Mohotsav. I hope the event is a huge success.”
“Our focus is to bridge the gap between these cultures, artists and associations,” said IRDA founder, Vinay Kumar.
