KDMC proposes GPRS in ambulances Projects of 2 Thane schools among top 16 in country
The Kalyan Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) health department has planned to install a general packet radio service (GPRS) in its ambulances. Installing GPRS will help the KDMC track the vehicle’s location and help it manoeuvre the traffic snarls.
“In order to help the ambulances move out of the traffic jams, we have proposed installing GPRS in them. This will help us track the ambulance’s location. We will then seek help from police,” said Smita Rode, health officer, KDMC.
The science projects of AK Joshi English Medium School and Shreerang Vidyalaya, both Thane-based schools, have been selected as the best projects in India at the National Children Science Congress 2015 held at Chandigarh in December.
The two were among the 16 best projects in India. “This year, the theme was ‘Understanding Weather and Climate’. More than 2,500 projects were presented at the district-level. Twenty-seven projects were selected. Of them, three from Shreerang Vidyalaya, one each from AK Joshi English Medium School and Bedekar School,” said Surendra Dighe, president of National Children Science Congress.
