Shop for home decor, clothes, jewellery; enjoy live orchestra today
CBD BELAPUR: Even as New Year revelries continue, residents indulged in some serious shopping at the winter festival at Urban Haat in CBD Belapur over the weekend.
The festival, which began on Friday, drew crowd from Mumbai, Thane and Raigad apart from Navi Mumbai.
Shopaholics browsed through handloom, handicraft and decorative products displayed at the stalls. Visitors were spoilt for choice with a variety of jewellery made of jute, metal, silver and terracotta.
The other attractions of the festival, which will continue till January 17, are wood craft, carpets and wall hangings.
Craftsmen from Rajasthan have brought with them furniture, miniature paintings and other ethnic handicrafts.
Clothes from different parts of the country are available at pocket-friendly prices.
Visitors have been thrilled with the choices at the festival.
Pratiksha Shinde, a Kopar Khairane resident, said, “This is a good place for shopping and spending time with family.”
Cultural programmes have been scheduled for the coming days. On Sunday, Hobby Club will be performing live orchestra in the amphitheatre of the Haat from 7pm.
“City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cico) will organise a Sankrant Mela from January 6 to 17,” said Mohan Ninawe, chief public relations officer of Cidco.
