Half-burnt body of man found near Turbhe sta­tion

TURBHE: The half-burnt body of a 30-year-old man was found near rail­way tracks of Turbhe rail­way sta­tion on Satur­day.

The body has been iden­ti­fied as that of Nilesh Naik, a res­i­dent of Pan­vel and an air-con­di­tioner tech­ni­cian. He had been re­ported miss­ing from Khan­desh­war on De­cem­ber 30.

“The body was found in the bushes along the tracks,” said Maya More, se­nior in­spec­tor of APMC po­lice sta­tion.

“A po­lice team found a rail­way pass on the body, which helped iden­tify the vic­tim,” said More.

The body was then sent to the civic hos­pi­tal for post-mortem.

Fol­low­ing i nquiries, t he po­lice learnt that a miss­ing per­son com­plaint had been filed in Khan­desh­war po­lice sta­tion. Ac­cord­ing to po­lice sources, they have strong leads in the case and will be able to solve it soon.
