NEW DELHI: A cricket board official’s job was no longer a part-time assignment and the recommendation to keep ministers and government servants out of BCCI stemmed from it, former CJI RM Lodha has said. In an interview to HT, justice Lodha said the game had evolved in such a way that the administrator’s job, though honorary, was not a part-time job. Asked if his panel’s suggestions calling for sweeping changes were legally binding on BCCI, he said “If the court [SC] wants the state to do something, it says it may be done. It is taken as it will be done...”
