AMITABH MAY REPLACE AAMIR AS ‘INCREDIBLE INDIA’ MASCOT
NEW DELHI: Aamir Khan’s loss may be Amitabh Bachchan’s gain. The 73-year-old superstar emerged on Thursday as the frontrunner for the government’s ‘Incredible India’ campaign, a day after the Centre decided to not renew Khan’s contract for the flagship scheme to promote tourism in the country.
“Amitabh Bachchan will be the first choice of the ministry for the job. A proposal will be sent to him. It will be finalised soon,” said a senior tourism ministry official.
“Other names being considered include actors Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra.”
