NEW DELHI: Aamir Khan’s loss may be Amitabh Bachchan’s gain. The 73-year-old su­per­star emerged on Thurs­day as the fron­trun­ner for the gov­ern­ment’s ‘In­cred­i­ble In­dia’ cam­paign, a day af­ter the Cen­tre de­cided to not re­new Khan’s con­tract for the flag­ship scheme to pro­mote tourism in the coun­try.

“Amitabh Bachchan will be the first choice of the min­istry for the job. A pro­posal will be sent to him. It will be fi­nalised soon,” said a se­nior tourism min­istry of­fi­cial.

“Other names be­ing con­sid­ered in­clude ac­tors Ak­shay Ku­mar, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Cho­pra.”
