Agri-Koli fes­ti­val be­gins to­day at Nerul

NERUL: The up­com­ing Agri-Koli fes­ti­val will show­case the cul­ture and tra­di­tions of the Agri and Koli com­mu­ni­ties.

The Agri Koli Ma­hot­sav, or­gan­ised by the Akhil Agri-Koli Sa­maj Pra­bod­han Trust (AAKSPT), is see­ing its tenth year. It will be held from Jan­uary 8 to 17 at Shree Ganesh Ramlila ground in Sec­tor 12, Nerul (west). The so­cial theme of the fest this year is fe­male in­fan­ti­cide and car­ing for par­ents. It is be­ing sup­ported by Navi Mum­bai Mu­nic­i­pal Cor­po­ra­tion (NMMC) and City and In­dus­trial De­vel­op­ment Cor­po­ra­tion (Cidco).

Namdeo Bha­gat, the founder pres­i­dent of AAKSPT and cor­po­ra­tor said, “The fes­ti­val will show­case the Agri-Koli cul­ture, folk songs and dances, tra­di­tions, food, clothes, fes­ti­vals and mar­riages.”
