PRAKASH BAVISKAR NEW MCHI PRESIDENT
VASHI: A newly-elected managing committee took over the reins of the Navi Mumbai unit of the Maharashtra Chamber of Housing Industry (MCHI) during the fourth Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Monday at Vashi.
Prakash Baviskar was appointed president, while Vijay Lakhani became president-elect. Atul Agarwal was promoted to the post of trustee, while former president Arvind Goel was promoted to the post of chairman.
Speaking on the occasion, Baviskar said, “The dynamics of the industry are changing at a very fast pace. The realty industry continues to gain prominence as demand for housing is growing rapidly.”
Baviskar said, “More than 700 developers work in Navi Mumbai. The supply of land is less. Getting approvals in NAINA is proving to be a herculean task. Even encroachment has increased. We will insist on new zoning within NAINA. We will also address the problems faced by developers in consuming the allotted 2.5 FSI in the NMMC area.”
