Singers reach out to youth, advise them to stay away from drugs
VASHI: Navi Mumbai police ended the week- long ‘ Raising Day’ celebrations on a grand note on Friday, with a special programme held in Vashi, which was attended by celebrities and included an anti-drug awareness campaign.
The programme, organized by APMC police, was held at Vishnudas Bhave auditorium, Vashi. It was attended by music director and singer Shankar Mahadevan and singer Vaishali Made, apart from Fr. Joseph Pereira, an anti- drug campaigner. They all made an impression on the large number of school students in attendance at the function.

Walture, senior police inspectors of zone I area and other police officials and personnel were present at the function.
The students performed a play on the dangers of drug addiction. Mahadevan and Made regaled the audience with rendition of their popular songs. They
also advised the children to stay away from drugs.
On Thursday, the Na vi Mumbai police had organised a Police Mitr meet as part of the Raising Day celebrations. Police mitr, who support the police in their activities, were felicitated on the occasion.
