The traffic police propose to enforce parking only on one side in Seawoods sectors 40-42. The traffic police took the decision after getting complaints on haphazard parking from residents.

Deputy commissioner of police ( traffic) Arvind Salve said, “People are parking on both sides of the 11-metre-wide road opposite Alevia cooperative housing society, all the way up to Mahavir society and extending to Panchali cooperative housing society and Shelter Arcade. This area, in sectors 40 and 42, falls under the Seawoods traffic branch jurisdiction.”

He added, “Haphazard parking in the area has led to traffic issues. The residents face regular traffic snarls in the area. We have received a number of complaints from them.”

Salve said, “To resolve the issue, the entire stretch is now proposed to be designated for only one side parking.”

The traffic police have asked the local residents to give their objections and suggestions on the plan within eight days.

You can write to the Navi Mumbai police ( traffic) and send it to the CBD Belapur office.
