Gang of 3 ar­rested for house break-ins

The Kharghar po­lice have ar­rested three peo­ple for house break­ing and chain snatch­ing. The po­lice have re­cov­ered 106 gm gold worth Rs 3 lakh worth.

Se­nior po­lice in­spec­tor of Kharghar po­lice sta­tion, Dilip Kale formed 10 po­lice squads that in­cluded as­sis­tant po­lice in­spec­tors Shrikant Shinde, Sud­hir Wagh among oth­ers.

Kale said, “We noted that the cul­prits would of­ten tar­get women walk­ing around Cen­tral Park and Gram Vikas Bha­van. The spe­cial squad spot­ted two men who were mov­ing about in a sus­pi­cious man­ner in the area.”

He added, “The po­lice team chased them and man­aged to get Aqueel Bu­ra­nia. Through in­for­ma­tion re­vealed by him, we man­aged to get his ac­com­plice Faizan Ch­ha­tri­wala as well.”

Both the ac­cused are res­i­dents of By­culla and had rented a flat at Sec­tor 10 of Kharghar. They have con­fessed to snatch­ing at least 10 man­gal­su­tra. The po­lice have re­cov­ered 106 gm jew­ellery worth Rs2.16 lakh.

The po­lice re­ceived a tip-off that an ac­cused resided in Datta Bha­gat chawl in Kharghar vil­lage. A trap was laid and the po­lice ar­rested Vikas Barde. He con­fessed to five break-ins.

The po­lice have re­cov­ered jew­ellery worth Rs 48,000 worth from him.
