Fol­low­ing a fight be­tween two groups of peo­ple, a res­i­dent from Uran fired in the air to scare his ri­vals on Wed­nes­day. Through no one was in­jured in the fir­ing, the po­lice have booked him un­der the Arms Act.

Ac­cord­ing to the po­lice, the com­plaint Rahul Kode, 38, had gone to Uran post of­fice for some work but his work did not get done. He did not good re­sponse from the an woman em­ployee.

So he al­legedly passed a com­ment at her. The woman felt in­sulted and she called her fam­ily mem­bers to the of­fice.

“A fight be­tween the two groups fol­lowed and they started at­tack­ing peo­ple from other group. Ajay Thakur, the woman’s rel­a­tive, had come to the spot with his li­cenced re­volver. How­ever, he fell dur­ing the at­tack. Then his rel­a­tive Dault Gharat took his re­volver and fired in the air to scare the other group,” said Ab­hay Ma­ha­jan, po­lice in­spec­tor from Uran po­lice sta­tion.

“All the ac­cused were later ad­mit­ted to hos­pi­tal as they re­port­edly suf­fered in­juries in the at­tack. There­fore, we have not been able to ar­rest any­one so far. We have reg­is­tered a case un­der rel­e­vant sec­tions of the In­dian Arms Act,” said Ma­ha­jan.
