Rally against traffic snarls in Uran
Distressed by regular traffic snarls, residents participated in a rally organised by Peasants and Workers Party in Uran on Wednesday.
The rally, led by former MLA Vivek Patil, started from Karal Phata and ended at Chandni Chowk. There has been a drastic increase in traffic in the area owing to rising population and increase in number of vehicles using Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust. “There has been little action by authorities. If no action is taken soon, the agitation will be intensified.”
Traffic officers said the planning agencies are working on proposals to ease traffic. The police, too, are stepping up measures for better safety.
