VR Chauhan promoted to IGP, shifted to Pune
VR Chauhan, additional commissioner of police of Navi Mumbai, has recently been promoted and transferred to Pune as Inspector General of Police (IGP) of wireless.
Chauhan, who was earlier additional commissioner of police in Mumbai, took over the charges in the satellite city in the second week of May, last year. He had replaced Fateh Singh Patil, who was transferred to Mumbai for the same post then.
“The promotion order came early this month and I was relieved from Navi Mumbai on Monday,” Chauhan said.
“I worked in Navi Mumbai for eight months. I enjoyed working with the residents here. From law and order point of view, I can say that Navi Mumbai is one of the best places I have worked in so far,” he said.
“As the additional commissioner of police, I oversaw traffic, crime, administration and other important branches of the department,” he said.
No officer has taken over the charges of additional commissioner of police in the satellite city so far.
