VASHI: Residents will be treated to dance performances by students of various schools from Navi Mumbai and Raigad on Saturday at Cidco Exhibition Centre’s auditorium in Vashi.

Students of various age groups will participate in ‘NrityaKala Tilakam 2015’, an annual traditional dance competition among schools organised by In Major City Foundation (IMCF) and Priya Ads.

The highlight of the event is the grand felicitation of Mahagurus who have accomplished over 25 years of teaching experience and Gurus who are teaching Indian traditional classical dance forms in and around Navi Mumbai and Panvel.

“Many Mahagurus will perform on a theme song “Vande Matharam” and Gurus on “Mile Sur Mera Tuhmara”, showcasing the country’s unity in diversity,” said Sunil Kumar Prabhakaran, programme director, IMCF.

He said, “There are over 25 schools participating this year, apart from the dance academies in Navi Mumbai and Raigad.”
