Ac­cord­ing to rules of Re­serve Bank of In­dia, a bank has to reg­is­ter a case with the po­lice if they re­ceive more than four coun­ter­feit notes from any of their cus­tomers. The in­ves­ti­ga­tions in such cases rarely suc­ceed as the real source of the notes can­not be found out. NILESH MORE, an in­spec­tor from the crime branch

Ac­cord­ing to Navi Mum­bai crime branch, the city po­lice have ar­rested a to­tal of 24 peo­ple in 19 cases of coun­ter­feit cur­rency notes in last two year. They have also seized fake notes of face value of Rs19 lakh dur­ing this time.
