NEW DELHI: Tele­com sec­re­tary Rakesh Garg was shunted out of the min­istry for his in­abil­ity to man­age call drops in a bu­reau­cratic reshuf­fle ef­fected by PM Naren­dra Modi on Fri­day to bring in 10 new of­fi­cers to head cru­cial de­part­ments. The is­sue of call drops had at­tracted the PM’s at­ten­tion and ref­er­ence was made to it twice in his re­cent meet­ing with Garg, who was also un­able to bring about pol­icy clar­ity on net neu­tral­ity and speed up the roll-out of broad­band net­work Bharat. net.
