More de­mo­li­tions for Kalyan road pro­ject

KALYAN: Sev­eral struc­tures at the Tis­gaon naka Pune Link road were de­mol­ished on Fri­day by the Kalyan-Dom­bivli Mu­nic­i­pal Cor­po­ra­tion (KDMC).

T his was done f or road widen­ing and con­creti­sa­tion pro­ject.

Ear­lier, the civic body razed around 100 struc­tures from Vit­thal­wadi rail­way sta­tion to Shree­ram Chowk which is a also a part of Pune Link road.

The KDMC has started de­mol­ish­ing en­croach­ments in var­i­ous parts of the city for the road­widen­ing pro­ject. There are sev­eral ma­jor roads in the city, which are en­croached upon by shops.

Once widened and con­cre­tised, there will be less con­ges­tion on roads as sev­eral heavy tucks and other ve­hi­cles t ake t his route on a daily ba­sis to con­nect other cities like Ul­has­na­gar, Am­ber­nath, Bad­la­pur, Pune and Dom­bivli.

On Thurs­day, the Am­ber­nath Mu­nic­i­pal Coun­cil de­mol­ished a two-storey school cum col­lege at Green City in Am­ber­nath ( East).

As per the civic coun­cil the school was built over a plot of 4 acre which was re­served for sports play­ground by the coun­cil. The GR Patil School, Sci­ence and Com­merce Col­lege was de­mol­ished.
