More demolitions for Kalyan road project
KALYAN: Several structures at the Tisgaon naka Pune Link road were demolished on Friday by the Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC).
T his was done f or road widening and concretisation project.
Earlier, the civic body razed around 100 structures from Vitthalwadi railway station to Shreeram Chowk which is a also a part of Pune Link road.
The KDMC has started demolishing encroachments in various parts of the city for the roadwidening project. There are several major roads in the city, which are encroached upon by shops.
Once widened and concretised, there will be less congestion on roads as several heavy tucks and other vehicles t ake t his route on a daily basis to connect other cities like Ulhasnagar, Ambernath, Badlapur, Pune and Dombivli.
On Thursday, the Ambernath Municipal Council demolished a two-storey school cum college at Green City in Ambernath ( East).
As per the civic council the school was built over a plot of 4 acre which was reserved for sports playground by the council. The GR Patil School, Science and Commerce College was demolished.
