Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) is the only civic body in India that owns a dam. Cidco takes water (120mld) from Hetawane and Bhokarpada dams to distribute in their jurisdiction, but both the dams belong to Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran.

Likewise MIDC takes water from different sources from across the state to distribute in the industrial units of their area.

The NMMC takes 2mld and 55mld water from Cidco and MIDC respectively.
