Hafiz Saeed warns of Pathankot-like attacks
Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) founder Hafiz Saeed has praised the terror strike on Pathankot airbase and warned India of more attacks ahead of the Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5.
Saeed, who heads the Jamaatud-Dawah, made the remarks while addressing a rally in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on Wednesday. He also lauded Syed Salahuddin, the head of the United Jihad Council, which claimed the attack in Pathankot that killed seven people.
India expressed grave concern at the activities of Saeed on Thursday and asked Pakistan to rein in the internationally designated terrorist . Claiming that Indian troops in J&K were “committing genocide”, Saeed said: “Don’t they have a right to carry out Pathankot-style attacks for their defence?”
He told the gathering that “freedom fighters” on the Pakistani side of the border “would not sit idle and see this happening”. He added: “You have only seen one attack on Pathankot. Matters could easily escalate.”
