Kalyan to get better health facilities
The municipal hospitals in Kalyan will soon have upgraded facilities.
The Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) commissioner will prepare a proposal for a medical and a nursing college and improve facilities in civic hospitals. The proposal will be presented in the next general body meeting.
The decision to upgrade facilities was taken at a meeting between the KDMC commissioner E Ravendiran and Kalyan MP Shrikant Shinde on Tuesday. It was decided to build a medical and a nursing college and college. “Several students from Kalyan, Dombivli and nearby areas have to travel to Mumbai and Nashik to study medicine and nursing,” said Shinde.
Shinde proposed an idea of using the 28 acre plot reserved for a medical college in Titwala and the KDMC has approved it.
“We can build a medical college in the plot on public-private partnership basis. The proposal will be presented in the general body meeting,” said Ravendiran.
