The 88 meter Morbe dam owned by NMMC has a storage capacity of 190 million cubic metres (mcm) of water. However, the water level on Wednesday was just 72.79 metre with storage of 68.327 mcm.
NMMC supplied 421 MLD water in their jurisdiction last year. However, with insufficient water in their dam this year they are supplying just 300 MLD now.
They supply water to over 1,16,727 consumers through network of over 750 km long distribution systems with 113 service reservoirs.
NMMC takes 2 MLD and 55 MLD water from Cidco and MIDC respectively.
Cidco gets water (120 MLD) from Hetawane and Bhokarpada dams to distribute in their jurisdiction, but both the dams belong to Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran. MIDC takes water from different sources from across the state.
