Rahul says stop mak­ing ex­cuses, start gov­ern­ing

Congress vi­cepres­i­dent Rahul Gandhi said on Fri­day the job of a Prime Min­is­ter was to run the coun­try with­out mak­ing ex­cuses, launch­ing a sting­ing at­tack on Naren­dra Modi hours af­ter the lat­ter slammed the op­po­si­tion party for re­peat­edly dis­rupt­ing Par­lia­ment.

“All that the Prime Min­is­ter has been do­ing for the last 18 months is to make ex­cuses as to why the econ­omy is not run­ning, why farm­ers are not get­ting their dues, why labour­ers are not get­ting what they should get,” Gandhi told re­porters in New Delhi, af­ter a meet­ing with the party’s state chiefs.

“The job of a prime min­is­ter is to run the coun­try with­out mak­ing ex­cuses.”
