Last year in November, corporators had raised the issue of water wastage in the city.

The administration had said the city gets 421 mld of water and of this, 19% water is leaked (80 mld water goes waste). Municipal commissioner Dinesh Waghmare had said that 370 mld water is sourced from Morbe. “The five villages around it are given 5 mld, Kharghar 55 mld, Maharashtra Jeevan Pradhikaran is given 15 mld and some water is also given to the MIDC. With the city’s population at around 13.5 lakh, we have enough water for all. In Nagpur 350 mld water is supplied for a population of 35 lakh.”
