THANE: Here is good news for municipal schoolchildren in Thane.

They can now study anywhere after their classes and their school bag will be lighter and they needn’t carry text books.

They can get their syllabus and text book in their tab or smart phone.

On Wednesday, the Thane Municipal Corporation launched a mobile app ‘ robomate’ at its headquarters in the presence of civic commissioner Sanjeev Jaiswal.

The app is available on play store and one can download it free of cost.

The app contains syllabus for IIT, JEE and CBSE.

TMC students of Classes 5 to 7 can get their syllabus on the app.

“TMC schoolchildren can avail the facility free of cost. But, they need Internet con- nection. After downloading the syllabus, they can learn through the various audiovisual lessons.

This is useful to understand lessons easily,” said Sandeep Malwi, public relations officer of TMC.

“MT Education Trust has prepared t his app f or educational purpose,” said an officer from MT Education Trust.

“This is easy to download. We can teach students with help of the app. Students find this interesting and useful,” said a teacher, who teaches Classes 6 and 7 students.

“The TMC has given us the tab. I have browsed through the textbooks on the tab. It is a good way of learning,” said Sanjyot Khade, a Class 7 student from a TMC school.

Municipal schoolchildren show their smartphones after downloading the app at Ballal Hall in TMC headquarters.
