HI-TECH WAY TO BOOK VIOLATORS
The Navi Mumbai traffic department issued over 40 on the spot e-challans to motorists who violated traffic norms on roads on the first day (January 1, 2015).
The Android devices have 3G internet connections and it is as easy to use as any smart phone.
As soon as the police put a smart licence or smart RC book to its slot, the driver’s name, engine number of his vehicle, his address and insurance details are displayed on the screen. All these details appear on the printed challans.
In case of regular licence or RC book, they had to put the drivers name and registration number of his vehicle on the device.
They are now not using these devices for the past four months, as the bills of the SIM cards have not been paid by the state.
