Headley iden­ti­fies 3 at­tack­ers’ voices, but not of Abu Jun­dal

Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) op­er­a­tive David Cole­man Headley iden­ti­fied the voices of three at­tack­ers of 26/ 11 Mum­bai car­nage — Abu Qa­hafa, Sa­jid Mir and Abu Al Qama — dur­ing his sixth day of de­po­si­tion on Satur­day. How­ever, the 56-year-old Pak-born Amer­i­can na­tional, who has been tes­ti­fy­ing via video con­fer­ence since Mon­day, could not iden­tify the voice of han­dler Zabi­ud­din An­sari alias Abu Jun­dal from the in­ter­cepts of the con­versa- tion recorded by the Mum­bai po­lice. Be­fore con­clud­ing the ex­am­i­na­tion on Satur­day, the spe­cial pros­e­cu­tor Ujwal Nikam re­quested the ad­di­tional ses­sions judge GA Sanap to al­low him to play the record­ing of the in­ter­cepts be­tween the 10 ter­ror­ists of 26/11 ter­ror at­tack and their han­dlers from the con­trol room in Karachi.

With the per­mis­sion of the court, Headley was made to lis­ten to the record­ings of in­ter­cepts which were recorded be­tween the ter­ror­ist who was in Taj ho­tel and the han­dlers in Karachi on Novem­ber 26, 2008.
