VARSITIES TOLD TO FLY TRICOLOUR
NEW DELHI: The National Flag will be flown ‘prominently and proudly’ to evoke nationalistic sentiments amongst students in central universities, the government decided on Thursday. The first Tricolour atop a 207-feet mast would be unfurled at Jawaharlal Nehru University, sources told HT. The decision was taken at a conference of vice-chancellors called by HRD minister Smriti Irani in the wake of the suicide by a Dalit student Rohith Vemula.
