Truck worth ` 10 lakh stolen from Kharghar

The Kharghar po­lice have reg­is­tered a case af­ter some uniden­ti­fied peo­ple stole a truck worth Rs 10 from sec­tor 19 on early Thurs­day.

Ac­cord­ing to the po­lice, the driver Te­jen­der­s­ingh Sandhu, 45, parked the truck out­side Kadambari Co­op­er­a­tive Hous­ing So­ci­ety last week. It was there till Wed­nes­day evening. How­ever, on Thurs­day morn­ing Sandhu re­alised that the truck was miss­ing from that place. He later ap­proached the po­lice and reg­is­tered an FIR.

The po­lice have reg­is­tered a case un­der sec­tion 379 of the In­dian Pe­nal Code. How­ever, they have not been able to make any break through till now.

“De­spite re­peated re­quests, peo­ple park their ve­hi­cles on road. They do not even in­stall any GPS sys­tem in their ve­hi­cles. If the own­ers them­selves not both­ered about the safety of their ve­hi­cles, po­lice can do very lit­tle to pro­tect them,” the of­fi­cer said.
